Home - Latest News - First we had ‘Sweat shops’, now we have we Spy bots!
Holy mother of smoke, PokerStars along with 2+2 forum have indentified that some players in S n’G’s double or nothing games (DON’S) use Spy Bots. After already paying out over $2.1 million in refunds recently to players in the ‘Sweat Shop’ scandal, PokerStars have been once again targeted by the fraudsters.
PokerStars have worked quickly along with 2+2 forum private sleuths, to attempt to highlight the problematic areas and lists of suspect players are already readily available. It is unclear at present, as to how widespread this type of Robot player across all poker sites, but PokerStars are with out doubt the hottest regarding security. So, I would imagine the Spy-bot players are pretty well ensconced in lots of different poker sites.
A Spy-bot player is a type of computer programme that will attempt to play the same as a live person, but will generally only play ABC poker. Meaning it will only raise with premium hands and call/fold with most others. They are very difficult to detect and I applaud PokerStars and 2+2 forum members, who have moved swiftly to try and identify the regular suspects.
Once again, it would seem the main culprits are from a district of China and I am pretty sure if investigated properly, could be tracked to the same venues as the recent collusion scandal. Well done all involved in the hasty response to this growing concern in the poker world.
