Back at the WSOP 2010, a disappointing story emerged after day 3. When an unnamed person playing in event #4, the $1000 buy-in Hold' em was caught cheating and swiftly banned for life from future WSOP events.
The unidentified man, believed to be in mid-fifties carried out a slight of hand chip swipe, whilst concluding a hand in which the other players had already left the table for a break. The WSOP tournament director played down the incident, but when confronted by a curious competitor as to why the man had been removed, he simple stated "You don't take someone else's chips."
The cheat had been caught by eagle-eyed cameraman, but footage has yet to emerge as WSOP officials attempt to dispel any negative vibes surrounding the showpiece.
Poker is well renowned for its players trying to gain an angle or advantage most legally, but making off with your neighbours chips is well... Quite sad actually.
