Home - Latest News - WSOP day 1a kicks off with 1,125 players
2004 Main Event winner Greg Raymer announced this years tournament started saying “This is what you are all playing for – the gold bracelet,” lifting the bracelet aloft and we were off.
Day 1a was off and running with 1,125 players subscribing for the first day, with the next few days predicted to be close to sell-outs. It is widely assumed that this years event will attract a record attendance once again. Every nationality you could possibly dream of is represented personalities from all walks of life, from film stars to sports stars, all play in the hope of achieving their own piece of history.
So, will another unknown win, or will it go to a pro? I will predict a European win and more specifically a first win for a Brit, they have been tearing up the tournament this year, with the biggest and best representation ever in the Main Event I will be very surprised, if they do not have at least one player back in the final nine.
